Was up 'til 3:00 am getting my last eBay listings in for the year. (Ebay operates on Pacific time, so the day doesn't end until 3:00 am "my time").

There were lots of fireworks going off around here, so I doubt I could have slept anyway.

P.S. We had a bunch of scaredy-cats hiding under the bed all night! ;)

The Grandson/young squire/prince was over yesterday and stayed with us while his parents went out to dinner. After he left around 10, a vodka bottle developed a mysterious leak and I rang in the New Year by myself. The wife had to work today so she hit the sack soon as the young scion left. Today is football, fried hog jowl, hoppin john, and cornbread. I have high hopes for 2015!

I had five 17 year olds, five 13 year olds, and my home from college 19 year old girls along with Lucia and the lone boy. I also had a mysterious leaking vodka bottle. Must be catching.

On another more important note. If you like vodka and have not tried a bottle of Tito's you are missing a slice of heaven. Perfect blend of taste and Smoove. Could have bumped up to my number one.

Yeah buddy. I try to look past the Texas part but that stuff is good!

On the rocks with a blue cheese stuffed olive and a few drops of olive brine.

And you wonder why you get called a Yuppie around this joint. ;)

I drink my vodka pretty much the same way LJ. I tried the Titos.. it was on sale a couple bucks cheaper than Absolut... It was good.. Still prefer Absolut.. and I've tried most of them. That's why they make chocolate and vanilla. ;)

As in just wave the vermouth lid over the glass a couple of times?

And why isn't it spelled vermoof by the way? Try taking a swig of it and that's how you'll say it.

I definitely prefer that method to "wet". Have two other friend who also partake. Our method is to dump a small amount of vermouth into the empty glass, swish it around and dump it out. Then build martini as per usual - usually doubles. ;)
