All right.. Here's one I used to use to start fights in bars that got too quiet.. (probably won't work here - you guys are too well informed) but. gawd it worked in a lot of bars. ;)

Your gun is shooting to the left. Which direction do you move the back sight to correct?

When I was sighting in my gun, I was shooting center right. Moved the rear sight to the left and got centered.
So if its going left, then I say right.

It's the opposite for moving the front site. If its going left, move it left. :)

The way I remember, which way to move it, is to move the rear sight the way you want it to shoot.
If its shooting to the left, then you want it to move over to the right. So move it right. :D

If I weren't headed out the door to an estate sale right now, I'd stick around and kick all your collective butts. Muddy, odd you came up with #5 .. I just had a check-up yesterday ... doc said my blood sugar is up and I'm borderline diabetic and my liver enzymes are up. I asked what the problem was and she told me I stuff too much crap in my pie-hole! She wanted to schedule me for an appointment with a nutritionist and I told her I went through that class last time and the nutritionist must be a fraud because I gained 5 lbs. since that time. ;)

Sunny learned it the way I did from my dad 50+ years ago..

"Move the back sight the direction you want the gun to shoot." (up-down-left-right - whichever)
"Move the front sight the direction the gun is shooting."

You can't *believe* the arguments I've seen over this one. ;) Good work y'all. :)

My favorite guns in my life that had iron sights all had buckhorn sights so I've always been a fan of that style. Mind you I've never swapped out a sight on a gun (except for adding some glow in the dark crap to a shotgun bead that didn't help a bit) but I've always been able to shoot guns more accurately that had them.
Never been a fan of peep sights.
