Well dang! Lynn and I just saw Lesley and Connie Stevens in concert about a year and a half ago. Sad.

Did you get the LuAnn Platter at the cafeteria too?

I think that one went over my head and I'm missing the connection. The only thing I can think of is that diner chain all over Texas (forgot the name) that has the LuAnn thingies on the menu. Or am I way off?

Luby's. I think it's just a reference to how freaking OLD you guys are!

Lucai's family is all from Tejas. Every time we go there everyone makes a huge deal out of the wonderful meal at the fabulous Luby's. That place is GROSS, people! A bunch of over boiled industrial grade food cooked to maximize the ability for seniors to gum it down. Friend chicken ain't bad, though.

We had an east coast version called Lum's when I was a kid, same stuff, different coast.

Luby's! That's it. Yep, I was delivering a load one day and walked across the street to a Luby's for lunch. Nothing special ... not great, not terrible ... average I suppose. They were all over Texas and a couple in Oklahoma. Not sure I ever saw 'em anywhere else.

I think it was a Luby's in Texas where some nutbag went on a rampage and shot up a bunch of folks years ago, wasn't it?

"I was delivering a load" and going to Luby's are sort of the same thing :)

S&W was another one around here that my grandfather used to take us to. I don't think I ever saw him eat anything other than the live & onions.

We had a mass shooting in Luby's:

Luby's Cafeteria closed a restaurant in Killeen, Tex. after a gunman killed 23 people and himself in 1991, but reopened five months later after getting requests from the community.
