If my Mrs. ever found out how much guns and ammunition actually cost it could be costly...

One of the scariest moments of my life was 4-5 years ago when we bought a new refrigerator. We were moving the old one down to the basement and I had to move my gun safe. So, one evening I emptied it and laid all the guns out so I could move the safe. Right at that moment, my Mrs. comes down the stairs and says, "I've never seen them all laid out like this." It gets worse. Then, she commences to counting.:trainwreck

Luckily, my boys are a little older now and I just buy them guns...

ooooh Chicken Dinner that was a risky move! Our first 10 years of marriage my wife knew how many guns I had. We just had our 29th anniversary a couple weeks ago. She gave up trying to keep count of how my rifles I have shortly after that 10th year. Currently she doesn't even have a guess and that's just fine. :D

Wife knows I own some guns, but I don't think she has any idea on the number or the value.
I do have a very complete inventory of what I have in the way of a computer file along with a note book with pictures, value and history of each firearm. #3 son knows my safe combination and location of this inventory when the time should come. Hopefully most with go to my sons and grand kids, if not, then at least they'll know the value should they wish to sell some.
I know the wife would be surprised, but not upset. When she lets you spend $11k on a trap gun, you know not much more will get her upset. :fine

Dang JB! How upset would she be if you bought me a good river fishing boat?

Will I start shooting 25's if I spend five figures on a trap gun?

Yeah,,, we had a little "revelation" a few years ago. Wife got to know where she had a "working knowledge" of guns though not really any real perception of value. When they opened the new Scheels store we walked through the "Gun Library". Of course, they have three prices on everything.. but just my luck.. Wife is telling her friend, "We have one of those - and one of those - and one of those." It finally hits her and she turns and looks at me - with something less than benevolence I thought. :D Aw, she's gotten easier as she got older though - in some respects. ;)
