What kinda vehicle is this???....

We saw this vehicle sitting out front of Mary Mahoney's Restaurant, last weekend, on the coast....no description or model info....it was interesting and beautiful, so I snapped some pics.

Anyone familiar with that vehicle???

Don't know, maybe some kind of kit car? That's my guess as most of the older cars shaped like that tended to be bigger. I live about 20 miles from the Auburn, Cord, Duesenburg Museum and have seen a lot of the old Auburns, Cords, and Duesenburgs, and they are all a lot bigger than that one. Of course, I could be completely wrong and probably am.

Too bad you didn't get a better photo of the hood ornament, that would answer the question in a hurry.

Looks like an old 30's era MG to me. Not sure when they started using bumpers though.

There are also quite a few "kit cars" out there that are similar .... usually on a Volkswagen Beetle chasis. I notice it's a left-hand drive set-up, but I think there were export versions of the MG with that arrangement.

Looks like a 1929 DuPont Model G speedster, BUT. I thought they were all 4 door. Except for the loss of 2 doors its a dead ringer.
Possibly a kit car.

Yeah, that big "trunk" area looks suspect ... possibly to hide a VW engine and fuel tank. It was before my time anyway. ;)

If Edward were a "noticer" ... he'd have noticed a VW motor in the rear ... so who knows?

Those rear tail lights make it a VW conversion kit to me.

My thoughts persactly ... as soon as I saw them, I thought 70's VW. I'm not positive, but the tag holder/light also looks like a chromed version of a VW mount. Kinda close to this one, but not as bulky.

The 29 DuPont had a big trunk area but I've only seen 4 doors. Looks like this car is probably a kit car and the DuPont "style" was shorten to make it fit the chassis....

Yes it even has little clearance lights on the front fenders that look just like the ones on the VW you posted.
They would not have had that years ago.

Yes I know that Thump-head. I was supporting what you said about them using that style to ALLOW for the VW engine.
A friend of mine had (and may still have) a 29 DuPont and that is the only reason I put the two together.

This is a 34 Hillman Aero Minx that was a British two seater. Its about as close as I've seen to that kit car. Man I'd love to drive one of those up highway 7 in Arkansas.

Not even close Posty. The back slopes down WAY too much and I don't see the fender mounted spare. Perhaps on the drivers side.
But I'm fairly sure that is a kit make on the DuPont.

Pretty sure it's a VW kit car. The steering/drive is on the left side....and it just has that "look" of a kit car..

Well. I figure it is a kit car. That's obvious cause they put it together on the porch and forgot to figure out a way to get it down from there!
