This is my 4th one to put down because of old age, it never gets any easier but better than not having a dog.

That sucks. Sorry to hear about this. Heck, I even tear up when we have to put one of the cats down. Dogs ... cats ... it really doesn't matter ... they have a way of becoming family and it's never easy when one gets too old and/or frail to go on.
