Hint: Walk the leadoff guy.

Trust me.

Ha! You're a better sport than I am. Y'all have beat us like a rented mule over the past three seasons and I'm starting to take a real disliking of your Red Birds on account of that. I predicted a slow start for the Nats this year due to all the injuries. The outfields finally getting healthy, but we're still missing our starters at 2nd and 3rd. So, we'll see how it goes.

That's cold, man. We all know he's really a Cubs fan. So, can't we all just get along?

Your two posts above are a sign of a conflicted fan.

BUT......I do believe 'rented mule' was a good choice....

Who you calling conflicted? That picture was a low blow!

But true. And valid. Which is another conflicted view of the current world.

Dude, Gio is dealing. May be your night.

He'll do for a #5 starter.😋. Starting pitching is the least of my worries this year...

Has Molina list a bunch of weight? He looks a lot smaller.

Yep. Did it to try to lessen the stress on his body at catcher. At the beginning of the year the talking heads were saying it robbed his power. That's not been the case though.

This game is being played at the level you'd expect to see in September. Good battle.

The manager's are earning their keep tonight with lefty/righty match ups and double-switches...

That's one way to keep John Jay from catching it!

Congrats man. A truly major league game.

Win or lose, I hope the next two are as entertaining. Last night was a trifecta here in DC. In addition to the Nats winning, the Caps and Wizards won their playoff games. My Mrs. is out of town. So, the boys and I were in sports heaven.

Yeah, she said to say hi.

And.......the beauty of an East Coast game is I get to go to bed before 10.....so no more xtra innings, ok?

Good, well played series. The Cards managed to beat the Nats bullpen two games in a row after the Nats starter was pulled. The decision to pull Sherzer today was questionable IMO. In fact, that decision and the total ineptness Washington has on the basepaths is the difference. Both of those things are on the manager, IMO. I thought Williams was supposedly an upgrade. This guy reminds me of Wash at Texas.
And sorry, not trying to be a poor sport. You have a good team. Its frustrating to watch a manager lose a gamecwhen the level of competition is as high as its been in this series.

Our color guy described the series as Big Bou Baseball and I think that's apt. It wasn't just base running. Both teams committed way too many errors. I'll disagree on the Manager though. Between trading Clippard and losing our go to reliever Craig Stammen to injury last week, Williams is just trying to figure out what he's got.

Even your color guy (Carpenter?) is an ex-Cardinal.

But it was indeed Big Boy Baseball.

Now we get to go to North Chicago and play the Stewers.

Funny how you never see Obama wearing a Cardinals jacket. And it aint because he dont want to.

I watched all three games at Washington and here was a very loud and audible 'Yadi' chant and by the 7th inning, even when the Nats were ahead, there were almost as many Cards fans as Nats fans.

Give 'em time, and they will develop a tradition.

CD, you didn't listen. I told you to walk the leadoff guy.

Geez. I think there's 20 teams I could manage! :bj

And I saw a ton of empty blue seats. And tomorrow night I expect to see more. North Chicago Brewers are the new Astros of the NL.

Actually they are the Cubs of the 2000s. They'd be better off if they'd used that
Selig statue for crappie structure. The sausage race is about the best sports in that place.
