Get this. My new doctor, whom I have not met, is named Mauser...........

Mauserman or Mauserwoman? ;)

Still haven't seen him or her. Or any doc in 32 hours. And after 2 IV blowouts they tried the other arm. And the doc that admitted me is a kidney guy and excused himself!! Nurse finally admitted I technically have no doc assigned.....just now.... as I was typing.

About to pull the IV and go home.....they say they're simply too busy. When I told her I was a bit upset that I'm paying for free care for half the hospital but can't get any myself she said "Yeah you're right. Sorry".

If it was Dr. Remington you would have better care... :-)

Dr. Eric Remington? He was a dentist! ;)

He finally showed up...at 10:30. Not Mauser......Mahzer.....Syad Mahzer. Nice guy, apologized because he and first doctor got confused on who had me.

Basically this is bad enough that IV antibiotics are required for 48 or maybe 72 or 96 hours. So here I sit for a while. Diarrhea won't completely stop...quite an event when hooked up to IV.

See your point. But name one other where I would have had a CT scan 1 hour after getting to ER, have it read 12 minutes later, in a town this size.

And if I'd have said what Posthole said, I'd have been vilified (couldn't resist).

I had a dozen of 'em 6 years ago (it's a wonder I don't glow in the dark) and have had a minimum of one/year since that time (follow-up on aneurism repair). I always get an immediate "unofficial" reading and a detailed reading by my personal doctor shortly after. I never actually counted the minutes ... but it's never been much of a wait.

Sure you do. Try that in another health care system that you think so highly of.

This one wasn't broke, just the payment system was. Now both systems are broken.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. And, I agree completely with your last statement.

I could ... I won't. It'd just be a vicious circle.

Ah. You may be right. Who knows. This is the one I'm stuck with though....so.....

Sometimes, ya' got's ta' go with what you're dealt. Especially in an E.R. type situation. What'cha gonna do? Ask 'em to give you time to "shop around"? ;)

Hope all works out well and you can get back to the farm. It's about check-out time here and we're gonna have our last genuine Cuban meal before heading back home to the daily grind.

Dangit! I'm gonna miss Talladega today. :(
