William L. Rummel, 62, of Bolivar, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at home. Born May 29, 1947, in Johnstown, he was a son of Helen L. (Heming) Rummel, of New Florence, and the late Harold C. Rummel. He was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Ligonier, UMWA Local 1256, and a lifetime member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, where he became an Agent Orange victim. Bill was an avid fisherman, who also enjoyed building and shooting guns. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Darlene (Riffle) Rummel; daughters, Veronica Susan Buckles and husband, Gary, of New Florence, and Stephanie L. Rummel, of Greensboro, N.C.; grandsons, Keith Boring, Brian and Joseph Buckles; brothers, Ronald Rummel and wife, Paige, of New Florence, James Rummel and wife, Deb, of Clyde, and Harold Rummel and wife, Mary Beth, of Tacoma Park, Md.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, in Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Route 711, Ligonier, with the Rev. Larry C. McDonnell officiating. Interment in Bethel Cemetery. Military rites by local veterans organization. Family assisted by KENNETH A. STUART FUNERAL HOME, New Florence.
