Picked up the new truck this afternoon. Wow! Got more bells and whistles than Bucksters new wheeler. I'll take some pics tomorrow, tonight is Jamesons night.

First the Mustang and now this. Are you going to convert Bev next and make it an all Phord family?

Congrats on the new wheels. There's nothing in the world as intoxicating as that new car smell!

Bev is a convert. We traded the RAV in on the new truck. No more Toyotas for us. I even gots a Ford hat as a gimme. Wooohooo! Now I have to get rid of Big Brown (my old GMC, you remember that one) and we'll be all Fords.

Oh, got'cha. I figured you traded truck for truck. How could I forget the ol' Jimmy?! In fact, I have a picture around here someplace of TW's Jeep AND Big Brown tryin' to lug a butt-plugless, 4,867,493 pound (or approx. 2,212,497 kilos - Canuckian) boat/trailer combo out of the drink! :D

Found On Road DEAD!

Fucked-up Old Rebuild Dodge

And did they give you a dog with your purchase so you wouldn't be lonesome on the walk home? Comes with most fords.

That said, congrats John! You got all the goody out of that old brown Jimmy! Enjoy! How do youblook in it with that cap on?

Without pics.... This thread is useless. Sorta like BBP's post about his new rice burner a while back.

When it's time, I'll have to look at them again. I've ridden in a few that were VERY nice trucks. The premium trim package is pretty impressive.

You obviously haven't seen some of the stuff Thump hangs around with. :D

Johnboy, are those side mirrors standard? Or are they part of a trailer towing package?

Arty
06-05-2015, 09:32 PM
I'm gonna guess standard. Or pretty standard, on an F350.

Thumper
06-05-2015, 09:37 PM
Prolly so. I guess they figure if you have an F-350, you're most likely gonna be towing SOMETHING.

Arty

Or if you buy a ford.... They don't rape you for a set of Mirrors like Toyota would :)

I'm out of the toyota business too. I traded for a GMC Z71 . I would have bought another toyota IF I had't been ban from the local dealership . Good product, fuck-head management !

Thump, the mirrors (auto extend/retract and folding) are part of the Lariat package but I also ordered all the tow packs as well - 5th wheel, camper and trailer so it's set up to tow most anything you might want.

I put a few breakin miles on it yesterday and it is a pretty nice riding truck for a 1 ton with only one niggle - the typical Ford overboosted power steering. Would be nice if you could vary the steering effort like you can with the Mustang but I guess I'll get used to it. Other than that it's a sweet ride.

Boss, never cared for the Toyota attitude either. Our first Toyota will be our last.

Looks great! Gotta love a shiny truck and yes, I'll be doing a by-hand wax job on the new one when I work up the strength. A truck is a LOT of sheet metal to wax and buff by hand but the end result is worth it, IMHO.

Arty

Didn't JB start the "do you wax" convo a few weeks back?
That ford don't need no wax. What ya need to do is go rub some dirt on it !!!

Had the truck for a week or so now and am liking it more every time I drive it. Smooth, quiet and gobs of power (haven't done any burn outs yet but I think it's capable). Whatever you knew about older diesels (noisy, smelly and rough) just doesn't apply to these new generation ones. If you didn't know and didn't notice the turbo boost guage you probably couldn't tell it was diesel powered. :D

Only problem was trying to get a set of floor liners that fit. I've used Husky liners forever and they always fit like a glove but I tried two different Husky products and they were, frankly, crap. Picked up a set of Weathertech and they fit great. The new canopy (Leer) should be here in a couple of weeks and it better fit perfect or back it goes.

Nice. One thing I really wanted and Chevy didn't do is the auto retract camper mirrors. Hope someday I can retrofit.

Nice color!
