The 4th on Torch Lake

Torch Lake is a beautiful inland lake just a few miles North of me.
It's been a tradition on the 4th to have a "Sand Bar Gathering" there.
#3 was on duty to make sure things stayed calm, they did, but got about 30 people on DUI's
It was a beautiful 85 degree sunny day.
Get through the fire works scene and you'll see what a sand bar party is all about.

The lake I have my boat on has a sandbar like that too. It's not as big, but it gets just as crowded on the weekends. There is a floating restaurant that sits out there on the weekends and all kinds of other things are happening too.

There is even another sandbar on the lake that is called the "family sandbar", where it's a LOT tamer and you don't have to worry about taking the kids there to swim.
