For me, after my farm chores, I was teaching a water safety course to a group of lifeguards at the local swimming pool....someone hollered out about it being on tv, and we all ran to the gas station, down the street, to watch.

We were all gathered around the TV at my grandmother's house. She said it was "trick photography" and as far as I know, still believed that 'til the day she died!

Sitting in my parent's living room watching it on TV. I was 14. Or make that likely laying in the floor watching it. the same fake-real argument was going on in our house. That and I remember us joking about green cheese!
