Nandy, no real biggie, but we got a bug. Or maybe its a setting somewhere. When you try to embed a link using the little earth icon with the chain link in it, it boots you right out of Goodhunting. I haven't tried the video embed or the picture one in a while but this one sure doesn't work. Maybe its just a setting somewhere, I don't know.

No biggie, like I said, but thought
I'd let you know.

Hyperlink test. (BBP, it's called a HYPERLINK!) :)

Works for me, Okie Boy.

I guess Sunny's technical advice may come in handy for you.

Sunny, rebooting a device isn't really at the top of the list of complex technical solutions :)

Dammit!! I quoted you and had to delete it!

Don't count your chickens before they hatch Blondie ... he hasn't tried rebooting yet.

It's prolly more like a simple case of "Okie Dumbassery"! :D

Okay, rebooted and its still doing it. It happens as soon as I click on the little embed link icon. Or HYPERLINK as our resident IT guy calls it. I figure he'll say next it wasn't in the requirements.

And the rest of you, except for Sunshine can bite my rust red buttocks.

Snort.

I have never, nor do I now at this time, see an 'embed link' icon.

If I want to embed a hyperlink, I go to that page in another window, right click on the URL, and paste it in the post. Voila.

BarryBobPosthole
07-27-2015, 12:26 PM
I can cut and paste no problem. But in the 'reply' box, in the icons that are listed horizontally on the right side white box, there is little icon of a world with what looks to be a chain saw chain link on the bottom. That allows you to embed a link and it'll show up then in the post with a picture and the headline and a few sentences instead of a nekkid link like you like so much.

Try it and see if it works for you.

Ha. I never knew that was there.

OK, I'm putting GH URL in there, see if this works.

Try it with a news link and see what you get.

Yes, it works for me.

BUT, I need to open a ticket with Fernandoreeno.

In Mobile Mode, everything is totally screwed up all of a sudden, if accessed on my phone. The pic of Cappy and Niner fishing takes up most of the screen. I can sort of see the very leftmost shot of what should be the Forum Page, but I cannot scroll over, and underneath the picture is blank.

It has always worked fine, until Nandy put that pic up.

And the little icon that looks like film on the right allows you to embed a video that'll show up with the video screen in the thread that you can just hit play and start from there. And the one to the left of that is where you embed pictures.

Reminds me of the old dealership days. It was like pulling teeth to get my service advisors to put enough details on a ticket so the mechanic didn't have to waste his time walking back to the service drive and waiting on the advisor to get freed up so he could find out what the heck he was supposed to fix. I had one writer who would do fine for about a week after getting his ass reamed, but he'd always slip back into his old bad habits.

I had a good friend/mechanic (we're still friends and he lives in Hawaii now) who came up to my office one afternoon to show me the RO (Repair Order) he'd just received from this dude. We decided to mess with him and teach him a lesson. Here's something similar to what landed back on his desk after the car was "completed".

RO: Engine missing
Mechanic's note: Found under hood

RO: Check clock
Mech. note: It's 3:15

RO: Check driver's doorglass
Mech. note: Done

RO: Check LR tire
Mech. note: Done

RO: Check RF bumper guard
Mech. note: Done

It went on, but you get the idea.

When the Serv. Advisor got the car back, nothing was repaired, but the car had yellow crayon (tire marker) check-marks all over it! ;)

The dude finally got his shit together after that!

Which is what Nandy told me.
