Two earthquakes already today. A 4.0 about noon and a 4.5 about an hour later. I don't know how stuff can be that flexible. I figured I'd have cracks in brickwork or cracks in drywall but can't see any.
I'm ready for this shit to stop.

Fracking be damned!

Seriously? Where? Close????

OH, and if oil stays below $50, all the fracking will soon stop. US Oil needs the price around $60-70 to make drilling (and fracking) worthwhile.

The center was just north of Okie City for both but it was felt all over eastern Oklahoma. And felt a lot. The 4.5 was almost a record. I'm sure we'll hear reports of damage.

The state started a new program to reduce the earthquakes caused by injection wells but from the looks of things it ain't working yet. We just had another big one, a 4.1 just a few weeks ago.

Might be the Debbil havin' a dance...............there were earthquakes before drilling...........

Not like this there wasn't. Its been proven by both the USGS and OGS that deep injection wells that they use to get rid of fracking by products are the cause.

Well sure. Why would I not trust a Federal agency for gosh sakes!????

Hope it don't get worse..........nothing worse than an earthquake. Nowhere to hide.

Well if you don't think it caused by it, then you prolly ought to start fracking again over where you live. They banned it there.

Hope that works out for ya!

SWN ain't fracking here? Since when???

I didn't say it did or didn't cause anything. I just said, or actually simply implied, that I don't trust any government agency to be my proof of that.

Vermont, New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey.

Only states I see that outlawed it.

July 2, 2015:
New York is the only state with significant natural gas resources to ban fracking, which has allowed other states to tap huge volumes of gas trapped in shale formations deep underground.

I saw a ton of activity throughout the Fayetteville Shale last weekend when I went camping. What's your source????

Maybe they should try it in California ... it might END the earthquakes there! ;)

Or maybe it'll relieve some of the pressure on the San Andreas and prevent "the big one". The possibilities are endless!

I'm sitting on the tip of the New Madrid. We get a ton of earthquakes, have since 1811. Mostly 1.89 or something.

Stuff happens.

This is one of the stories I found on it. It would be interesting to see the chart for earthquakes in that region since 2011 to see that earthquake swarm stopped after they stopped injecting. Not sure where you'd find that.

In the story I read about it years ago, I believe Conway is on the southern boundary of the area that they suspended it.
