In mobile mode your picture of Cappy and Niner take up 90% of screen. If I rotate,to landscape it's 50% and I can read and type but only in right half.

If I go to Full Site Mode it works ok.

Sunny says, re-boot! ;)

No clue, it's just a small pic in the upper left corner for me ... PC or iPhone.

I'd guess "operator error". :D

Is your name Nandy?

Well ... when I was running around England ... all the wimmins called me Randy for some reason. Is that close enough? ;)

do you know how to take a screen shot from your phone screen?

Buckrub
07-28-2015, 05:03 PM
Yes, I think so.

Buckrub
07-28-2015, 05:05 PM
So what do I do with it?

Thumper
07-28-2015, 06:26 PM
Post it. I'm sure Nandy would find it handy. ;)

Buckrub

OK.

Well, here's the first one. This is what I get when I go to the site and the phone is vertical..........and no amount of swiping or moving or pinching or anything will allow me to see any more of that tiny portion of the right hand side of the screen.

http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk131/Buck7088/Various%20Pics/Screenshot_2015-07-28-16-05-12_zpsflsylbxo.png (http://s279.photobucket.com/user/Buck7088/media/Various%20Pics/Screenshot_2015-07-28-16-05-12_zpsflsylbxo.png.html)

And here's what I get when I turn the phone Landscape (sideways). This works, but the picture and the blank spot below it STAY on the left 1/2 of the screen always.

It's that damn Droid....
They have HUGE holes in the security. People can literally take over your phone just from sending you a text.
That's just one more reason to pay for Apple products.

apple pretty much sucks...
Bucky, I will turn it off. I have to find a small phone like yours to play with it then I will load it back. This will only affect the mobile version of the forum.

Samsung Note III.

The Chauvinism on phones is almost as bad as a Toyota truck discussion.

I realize I am the enemy, but here's a suggestion you might try.

On the bottom left hand corner of the screen there is a drop down box that aays 'default style'. If you'll click on it and select 'default mobile' you get a skin that works best for mobile phones and doesn't have the pictures.

There is a 'full site' option that you can easily change to when you are on a regular sized computer.

Yes, I'm aware of that option.

But as you can see, I can NOT get to the bottom left hand corner of the screen to do anything!!! That was the first thing I tried to attempt. I can't get to anything.........just the picture and a small sliver of the left side of the normal screen.

This is funny.

I just Googled "iPhone security risk".............and read about 30 pages of stuff.

You can ask Nandy.

And what a security risk has to do with a bug in this software that doesn't work well with Android OS, in use by billions of devices, is beyond me.

Nandy
07-28-2015, 10:18 PM
It is not a bug in the software. I did not format that picture for mobile and I should had done that before changing the stock pic and hope it would reformat. I will address that later as we also have to get the latest from forum runner anyway. it is on my todo list.

Where are we going this time ?

Buckrub
07-29-2015, 11:10 AM
Back to Greers.........but to Dam Site. Trying that one, Devils Fork was booked. Besides, Devils Fork is danged small! You have to be a pro to back a danged trailer in. I got lucky and got a site that was simply hard! ha. Others were cussing. I am appreciative of the campgrounds we have, but most of the sites are too small. This is a new area at Dam Site that has water, my wife heard about it from one of her friends. I don't know how long we'll stay........the boy has never 'been camping' so we're going.......heat or not. 6 year olds (and 67 year olds) don't always have long attention spans, so we may come home before long, who knows.

Thumper
07-29-2015, 11:15 AM
Ummm, to teach a 6-year old what "camping" is, you need a tent, a lantern, a Coleman stove, a cooler and a couple'a sleeping bags dufus! (and teach him how to poop in the woods!) ;)

Buckrub

I realize. That is the purview of his parents mostly. I get him about 5 days a year........if I'm lucky.

Let me rephrase. The boy asked "Grandpa, can we go camping in your camper?"........so that is what we're doing. If that's the wrong term, and it probably is, I apologize.

BarryBobPosthole
07-29-2015, 11:21 AM
And if he said, "grandpa will you take me to the moon?" you'd be building a rocket right now in your back yard. I know because I am the same way. Can't say no (or at least find it real hard) to grandkids. Its kind of our job!

Camping means different things to different people. Each have a different style and if it makes that person or family happy that is all that matters. You wont see me in a tent unless it is absolutely necessary. If any, i will go to a campground that you can set up a RV and a tent and let the kiddos play on it up until they want back in the camper. If they are old enough they can stay in the tent all night.

Bucky, I cant understand why the problem persist. I reverted to the default image. I have the same phone you do and I just pulled it up and I see the default logo. What browser are you using? is it the stock browser?

Buckrub
07-29-2015, 03:35 PM
No, Firefox.

What is the stock browser?

Buckrub
07-29-2015, 03:37 PM
Oh, I guess it's Chrome.

OK, a Firefox issue. Chrome works.

That's the 2nd Firefox issue I've had in last week. I think when Win 10 comes out, I'll just go back to Edge..........the new IE.

Nandy
07-29-2015, 03:52 PM
No, the stock browser for your note is name Internet and I dont think i is a version of chrome but it could be.
What you are seeing is the way the browser tries to save you some data and load faster. It has cached that picture and bring it back from your local memory instead of across the net. One thing I have is firefox set to always request desktop. To me a desktop view offers better options than a mobile and if you have lte, latency should not be an issue, heck, regular 4g should be fast enough...

This is how my firefox screen looks in desktop mode and landscape.

5252

Im not sure where to go in ff to force it to clear it cache but in time it will go and look the new file.

Nandy

also, when you are in desk mode you can zoom in/out. Generally when you are in mobile mode zooming out/in are disabled.

Buckrub

You did something. I just reloaded the page from scratch in FF and it works fine.

Either a setting of mine, or a FF issue.........

Havent done anything since last night that I "fall back" the image to the default.
