My youngest son came home to visit Memorial Day (lives in Okie City) and left us a 'present'. His three year old husky. Seems his new live in girlfriend has three little yapper dogs already and they don't have a fenced in back yard so he had no good place to keep this dog. He had found a lady that wanted him but he wasn't being taken care of so he went and got him back. I guess dumping a grand dog on us is better than leaving a child! He's a great dog and we of course fell in love with him within a week. So he's here to stay.
WhT I didn't know was how much friggin hair this dog has. He'd been kept outside over the winter so his undercoat was thick as hell. Been brushing that stuff out since he got here and there's still a bunch left! He looks like he's twenty pounds lighter though with that brushed out.
Living here, a husky wouldn't have been my first breed of choice for our summers! But it ain't his fault and we'll make the best of it!

A husky and a springer. They're like Mutt and Jeff.

We have the same problem with a shepherd in the house. Don't fight the hair battle you'll never win no matter how much you brush the old saying seems to hold true, pull 1 and 2 come back in its place. My suggestion in the summer have him shaved in the summer. They look goofy but they are cooler and it helps a lot with the hair.

Yep, I have an undercoat brush. Once we think we have it done, more undercoat starts coming out in gobs.

It's probably all genetic modification.

The only genetic mistake is the one between your ears, bub.
