You know.. If I was 40+ years younger.. I'd have been right in the middle of this whole MMA thing.. I had a few skills and wasn't scared of anything on two legs, or four and had damned little respect for the devil himself... Now here's the bad part.. I *might* have been able to fight in Rhonda's weight class - some of those 135 pounders are walking around at 155. I said all that to say all this... jeeezuz ceeeerist.. I wouldn't want to fight that woman.. ;)

NTB is right.. However much Dana (okay 0 not just Dana) is paying her - she deserves more. She has single-handedly brought MMA into the national spotlight. This morning her fight was one of the top three stories on the Today show. I'm betting that hasn't happened in combat sports since Mike Tyson lost. It's hers as long as she wants it - and if she loses - it will be a fluke... or the biggest (and best paid) dive in history

I got the fights, and much like Cappy will buy everyone that she's on because her dominance is impressive. A few thoughts on it. She continues to improve every fight and got tougher to beat after this fight, and showed she's not a 1-dimensional fighter. Her hands are still basic and will only continue to get better with confidence. This fight was won is a fairly basic 1 - 2 combo and aggression.

I previously thought that Cyborg could beat her, I thought that Cyborgs aggression and strength would match up really well, and she wouldn't be beat before the fight started. Now, I don't think so. I also believe that Rhonda and Dana thought the same, but now believe she has the confidence and skills to win. I think this fight will now happen, and do well over 1M in PPV buys.

The overall fights I was disappointed in. Coming off of what I think have was one of the best UFCs I have seen in a long time

UFC 189: Lawler Vs Mcdonald: Lawler is an absolute warrior....both showed a lot of heart...was an awesome fight

Mcgregor - Mendes: I want to see this one again when Mendes has more than 1 week of training camp. He gassed in round 1...I think he beat Connor with a full camp.

Yep - It's expensive I get that.....but I don't watch baseball, and not a lot of football.......we're all allowed to have a vice here and there right. This is mine. I pay too much to watch fights. I have a ritual, I figure out what I'm going to smoke on the grill I spend usually the afternoon smoking something along with a drink or two, then I have a nap, and wake up in time to watch the fights and eat....my form of resetting the batteries.

For me the jury is still out on McGregor... Every time I watch him fight - I have to scratch my head. He just doesn't "appear" to have the skills to do what he keeps doing. I don't dislike him, in the least, but I admit I was one of those who thought he was over-rated.. Now I don't know.. They keep raising his arm. ;)

I was a big fight fan "back in the day".. Boxing got so bad it finally left me cold.. These elite MMA fighters are some of best athletes (and nastiest people ;) ) on the planet.

I don't think his striking is overrated at all. The above post where I referenced Rhonda's hands being basic, watch Connor and Rhonda side by side. Connors angles, footwork, and diversity of striking is incredible. He also has a super chin. His weakness is wrestling, I actually picked Mendes to beat him via take downs and gnp.....I still think on a full camp he does.
