On MLB Network, they're actually talking seriously about using technology to call balls and strikes.
And the new clone drone commissioner of baseball is sounding like he's all for it. As are, of course, the young sports writers who these days think they're the shit and know everything.
They're gonna fuck it up, just wait and see.
And I won't watch, attend, follow, or otherwise give a shit about any baseball game where any calls are automated. The replay system they have now is worthless, IMO and need to be taken out of the game.
The umpires, their human judgement, their excellence, and their foibles are all part of what makes it such a head and shoulders game above football.
Just imagine the I 70 series with instant relay. We wouldn't even know who
Don Denkinger is. The Cards would have another World Series pennant in their stadium. But I wouldn't change it if I could. I love hating Denkinger. I don't want to give that up.
And I'm starting to really dislike this sabermetric crowd. Nobody seems to notice that they're almost always wrong in their predicitions! Not everyone is Billy Beane!
