I got a promotion at work and I have been needing a new watch so I pulled the trigger on this beauty.

Thanks, it was only a promo to a higher pay band. I am still doing the same job but the pay bump will definitely help.

Barry, that means a lot to me. I have been there just over 18 years, I must have them fooled pretty good.

Man, that's nice! I wanted a certain Seiko for many years and finally bought one for myself a few years ago. It's not this exact model, but looks very close to it and it's similar to yours.

Prob. is, I've gotten to the point I use my cell phone for a "watch" these days and I just never USE a watch any more. But that's secondary really, my eyes have gotten to the point I couldn't see the dials without slipping on my cheaters, so it just wasn't working for me anymore. I will say the guy who boughtj it from me, loves it.

Congrats on a cool watch!

Very nice Trav. I've been looking at watches that have that same look. Is that a pro diver series?

That is a very nice looking watch.

Ever since cell phones I've had a hard time wearing a watch. I have a Tag, but I can't seem to put it on anymore.

Congrats man. On both..............

I threw mine as far as I could on Feb 25, 2011. Or maybe 2012. I honestly do not remember correctly.

Same here NTB, I sold that Seiko mentioned above, but have a Rolex here I'm going to sell. I gave Lynn a Rolex for her birthday years ago and she never wears a watch anymore (also uses her cell phone), but she WILL NOT let me sell it. I'm not the sentimental type at all ... unlike her. I can't convince her it does not do one bit of good sitting in a dang jewelry box, but I suppose some numbnutz will buy it at an estate sale one of these days. :(

Since I retired the only time I wear a watch is when we go out or when I need the alarm to get up to go fishing. I did wear it all the time on vacation and as a dive watch. That's sad because I kind of have a thing for watches. I wore a Tag for years until I got a Tissot Touch. Best watch I've ever worn.

Other than my wedding ring that I wear to please my Mrs., a watch is the only piece of jewelry I wear. Other than when I travel and I leave it on East Coast US time and use my phone for local time, I just like wearing it more than I need it for telling time.

Heck, the only alarm I've used for the past 10 years is also my cell phone!

Same here.

And I can't wear a ring or a watch anyway. Too clumsy, it catches on every tree branch, shines in every deer's eyes, falls off and gets lost.......... I just put 'em all up long ago, but did wear a watch while working. That one went too........

I was the same way Barry, I loved my watches . I had two rolex's, back when I shot shotgun sports, it was a must have. But in my line of work, the rolex were always getting knocked out of rhythm. I switched to a tag, which has been a amazing piece of equipment. It's a shame, but I just can't make myself wear a watch anymore. But I still do like to look at new shiny watches !

My Dad was one of those people who would kill a watch. I must have bought him ten watches over the years and he'd wear them for a month or two and they'd stop working. The strangest thing I've ever saw. He tried self winding, electric, solar, you name it, if he put it on his wrist he'd kill it.
