I've been f'ing with this thing waaay too long for what "should" be a simple fix. My frigging webpages are bigger than my screen and I've tried everything in the book to adjust it, to no avail. I'm running Win 8.1 if that makes a difference. They were going to upgrade to 10, but I told them I want to hold off 'til they get the bugs worked out. Anyway, having half my dang page hiding in the margins is a royal pain in the ass. HELP!

Shouldn't there be a button somewhere that says "fit page to screen"?

I believe the command you use when you don't buy an Apple is 'format: c'

I do that, but it's temporary for the page I'm viewing. I need it to be permanent ... fit page to screen. CTL - makes EVERYTHING smaller.

First off, what browser, your os has pretty much no say on your browser settings...

IE right now ... EVERYTHING always comes with MS crap. I normally run Google Chrome but haven't downloaded it yet. Just trying to get the basics going right now.

which version of IE? There should be a setting button that has the zoom percentages. which is the zoom percentage you have on it when a new windows open?

Right click on desktop...select screen resolution...higher gets smaller/lower gets bigger...

I change the zoom and it just makes everything bigger/smaller, but it doesn't change the margins. Geek Squad is a joke, I call and there's a 30-40 minute wait, so they suggest I go on-line. It just keeps scrolling "they'll be with me shortly" ... after 10 mins. I deleted the page. Grrrr, I hate initial set-ups!

Tried that too ... no change of margins, just lower quality images.

Well, I ditched IE and downloaded Google Chrome (what I've always used before) and half my problems went away! I adjusted the page size manually, so I'll have to see what happens if/when I reboot, but so far so good. Man, it's smooth sailing right now with ALL my previous issues. Something about MS and me just didn't get along. I sure wish I'd done this earlier this afternoon .. my blood pressure would be a lot lower right now.

Your last step should have been your first!!!! lol!

True. It's my default now ... always was before also. What a mess! I can't believe a browser made such a difference, especially when this thing came pre-loaded with it.

Cappy - Apple
Posthole - Worm

I can't imagine anyone using IE. But hey. Some stuff is written only for it.

At least the phone pictures you take are not sideways. Wait...........your phone is apple. Never mind! :snorting

Been there, done that ... no go.

Try this:

1.) Open Control Panel
2.) Select Appearance and Personalization
3.) Select Display
4.) "Change the size of all items": Move the slider to the left for "smaller"
