Well, it's been a while since I was here. I changed laptops and for some reason the "new" machine wouldn't take my password.

Then one day, it did, and I'm back.

Anything important happening here? It looks like old times, from where I sit; everybody picking on Bucky.

Oh yeah, I got retired.

Oh my. I miss a LOT of good folks here. Not many more than you.

Posthole is incorrigible. I seriously need serious help.

No wait........he is the one needing it. I'm fine.

Either way WELCOME HOME.

Bucky,

Let me tell you a story, not about Posthole exactly but about the town where he grew up, Poteau, OK.

As I think you all know, I served as State Chairman for Ducks Unlimited for three years. Well way back when I started with DU, the state Chairman (named Ben)was from Poteau, and he was heavy into state politics. Republican politics, which in Leflore County means he is alone a lot.

Anyway, he talked our "new" Governor (the same guy who was Gov. during the Murrah Building bombing, so this was a while ago) to become a Life Sponsor ($10,000.00 donation) with DU. We got a whole lot of kudos about this, but the last year this guy was in office we had a fundraiser at the Governors Mansion, and the Governor tells this funny story about how Ben had told him if he pledged that level, Ben would have a motorcade with every single Republican in the County ready to meet the Governor and escort him to town.

Well, when he got there, there were three cars, with one person in each car. This got a big laugh, but later I went up to Ben with a question "Who was driving the third car?" He had one, his wife had another but who was driving the other? He looked around a little shamefaced and told me he had to get his daughter to come home from Tulsa.

Arkansas used to be the same way. Winthrop Rockefeller sort of changed it. It's gone full swing now.

Hi Barry!

I'm living in Tulsa; my sister retired about a year or so back, and I pulled the plug last Monday.
We are both living about a mile or so north of Promenade Mall, in a house we inherited from an Aunt.

We sold our (two story, 90 year old) house in Brookside, and fixed up the newer ranch style house.

Nephew got married (to Admiral Spruance's granddaughter; so cool) and they had a baby last May.

I'm wearing a cast on my right foot which makes driving impossible. That's why I retired I couldn't effective get to work, and I ran out of things I could do at home and sick leave at about the same time.
