I loved Route 66 as a kid, but I thought Adam-12 (as well as CHIPS) were a couple of shows that insulted my intelligence! (no snide remarks needed!)

I wasn't a fan of cop shows until Hill Street Blues. I did like PD shows. Like Mannix and anything with Jim Garner, and Magnum and so on.

Hill Street Blues was a quite the show. Then NYPD Blue, maybe the best ever.
