Well we made it here last Thursday afternoon & have been hitting it hard ever since. Had beingnets at Cafe DuMonde, toured both Laura & Oak Alley plantations, took a swamp tour via kayak but did see any gators only some VERY big spiders, hit Bourbon St a couple of times, did the walking tour of the garden district which included the cemetery & several celebrity's houses, at some good foods, rode the streetcars city buses, and attended a Latin mass at an OLD Irish church. Also took in the WWII museum which I strongly recommend. It's been fun & educational but can check this one of my list...been there and done that.

Sorry, all you said was that you ate some good food, but since you haven't mentioned Willie Mae's fried chicken and those oysters don't look like they're from Acme ... you haven't REALLY been to N.O.

Only one solution ... you're either gonna have to stay another day, or go back another time. ;)

Have a safe trip home (I assume you're ready to head home).

We have ate at Mother's, Bon Ton, K Paul's, Maison's, Commander's, the Market, & a few others I can't recall. Was hoping to get into a good crawdad boil but apparently they are out of season.

The open market was pretty cool, definitely lots going on.

I almost forgot, I now know what a crepe murdle (sp?) is. 😀

Close ... that would be crepe myrtle.

The last time we were at the open market, they were having a big cooking show of some sort. We did a LOT of "sampling"! ;)

Just saw on FB yesterday that Willie Mae just passed away at 90 something years young.

Dang! That sucks. Hadn't heard that. She was 99 yrs. old! :(

I think her great-granddaughter has been running the place lately anyway. Still, it sucks losing the namesake. We'll definitely go back during our next trip to NO.
