With the first day of fall close at hand, I thought I'd start the annual color change.

9-30-15, just a touch of color, good stuff yet to come. It's been a warm fall, mostly mid 70's through the month, about 10 degrees above normal, plus some decent rain. Colors are a little late this year.

still a week or so out, local paper says we're about two weeks behind good color because of our warm Sept. so stay tuned.

Big difference in a week, should hit it's peak next pic.

This is about its peak, not a lot of red this year, lots of rust and yellow. Warm fall may have caused this. Yesterday it was near 70, Indian Summer Day, rare this late in Oct.

Well some rain and wind will turn the tree bare pretty fast, I'm thinking one more week and it'll be completely gone.

All done for the Fall of 2015

Just a hint of color on a few trees, record season for golden rod, wife's suffering through that.
So far, nice fall day, 72 with 44% humidity, forecast to stay this way all week.

Ha.

73 here, and still as a church mouse. Hard to believe I'm not fishing. It's not 'color'.....but we're turning brown already and driveway and roof are covered in dead leaves.

JB, I always look forward to your first fall post, and how the colors get progressively more brilliant, with each of your pics.

I do too, because it reminds me we are soon to get some relief from this oppressive heat and drought....
Keep us posted JB

Not sure where you're expecting to see it Nandy. He didn't attach it to his post today ... but added it to his original post to keep a running account. There should be two pics in the top post.

The colors seem a bit late this year, Jerry.

Beautiful as usual though.

The webworms attacked my hackberries with a vengeance so no early gold colors for us this year.

It's time to think about things to come.
Camper and Bimmer are in the barn, sprinklers were blown out yesterday, patio furniture goes in storage this weekend.
Lawn mower will still be used to gather up the leaves. Have not started the snow thrower yet, but that will happen in the next few weeks.
Enjoy the color while it lasts.

Just don't forget the SeaFoam!

Our colors aren't far behind yours this year for some reason. My hackberries are done, what the friggin web worms didn't eat, The ash are starting to turn, and the maples are showing a tint of red here and there. The elms are almost ready to drop a buttload of leaves in my pool.

Thanks for doing this Jerry, it is always neat to watch the progression.

Not much change in the color, but that white patch in the field is our first snow fall. Snowed off and on all morning, but it only stuck on my grass clipping pile.
It's 36 now with a good stiff wind blowing. Just thought all you southern boys would like a picture of something coooooool.

We got down to 37 last night. Archery season for deer is in now and there were trucks parked all over with that kind of weather, I think just about everyone that could be was out this morning.

Love those pics JB. I think about 10 minutes everything should be in 10 feet of snow :)

Wind and rain take the leaves down pretty fast, in about another week they'll be all down. :crybaby

We were at prime here right before the rain came mid-week. There's still plenty of leaves on the trees, but they're coming down fast. Every time the wind blows, it looks like it's snowing outside my office window.

7 weeks from green to bare, even though it's been in the 70's for the past three days, you know what coming. :(

Looks like you moved your chair to over by the fence. You sitting there with your rifle in case something comes walking down that fencerow?

That second to last pic is my favorite time in the fall - just a little past peak. That's where we are right now.
