Did you get any rain out of that system Cap?

Captain

At the SC farm we got .24 out of the first band .16 out if the second and .30 That ain't a lot but it has all fallen very slowly and every drop has soaked in. Which is what we needed. I think today is about our last chance to pick up some more.

is Joaquin gonna help you out Cap?

is Joaquin gonna help you out Cap?

We are praying it will. The track they have it on now has it a little east of us off the coast tuning in about the NC / VA line. That won't help us. It is going to take a storm like that to move this dry pattern out and get us some rain. I hope this on Coke in sooner about the NC/SC line. That would be really good!

Cap, I think your drought problem is going to come to an abrupt conclusion in a few days....looks like some of your areas are gonna get 5-8 inches, and others 8-12 inches....earlier today, one of the weather whores said this storm reminded her of the rapid intensity of Katrina....it sure is growing, that's for sure.

We are almost certain to get almost a foot of rain REGARDLESS of where the hurricane hits (on Monday).
What's your point?

I hope the fucker doesn't hit. That way I can say we "only had a foot of rain"

No point, just had a map of potential routes ......

Dumping up to 24 inches on eastern side of Bahamas, as we speak.

We're actually looking at two separate events. Rain from a cold front on Friday/Sat with up to 4" followed by Joaquin with a bunch more. I actually read something on the local weather blog today that compared the double whammy of the cold front and hurricane track to Agnes. That'd sure be a bite in the ass.

Heck, Phole, if I get lucky, and get some rain, I think I'll run around in it butt-naked....seriously, it will take 4-5 inches to even make the moisture meet.

It went to Cat 3 over night .

Latest models show it tracking more easterly as well. I'll take the rain. But, don't need that thing heading right up the Chesapeake Bay. Still a bunch of rain from the first front. So, that's good.

Yep, and the longer it sits and spins, the greater chance of it strengthening to a 4 or 5....serious situation, when and where it hits landfall!!!

Presently, one bright spot exists....there are about 6 different world-wide organizations who predict and build those hurricane ensemble models....the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) predicts that the hurricane will make an abrupt 180 degree about-face, and return, harmlessly, to the open sea.

Thump, the noon hurricane update just came out, and this thing hasn't budged from it's westerly movement....not saying it can't or won't make the abrupt turn to the north, as they predict, but if it continues wnw, you are in for a big blow job, buddy....if it happens, I hope you are prepared for it....Gov. Christie has already issued a SOE warning for NJ.

We've had a wet year and don't need no hurricane. I don't mind the blow job ... it's all that drool and slobber that's the problem. ;)

A hurricane is much like a redneck wedding. In the beginning there is a lot of intense blowing, but in the long run someone is gonna loose a mobile home.
