Or, the expansion of social media? My FB feed and local hunting sites have been lit up an amazing number of really nice deer hitting the dirt around here. The rut, or at least the chase, seems to be in full gear and I'm not leaving to go hunting until Friday. Based on my packing list, I'm gonna look like Bucky by the time I roll into camp.

It's just you. Everybody knows the rut don't get started good until thanksgiving

Maybe not there, but it sure is going strong here and has been. I've seen several bucks chasing does around and worked even more car/deer crashes.

Give or take a week, it seems like the second week of muzzleloader season (typically the second week of November) is the most common "go time" around here.
