(Did you notice 8 out of the top 10 are Southern states? I guess we take our shopping seriously!

I think it has something to do with the wimmins being "frustrated" cause their man-folk have been at hunting camp for several months. ;)

Last night about 7 pm, when we drove home from our gathering at the in-laws, the shoppers were lined up completely around the buildings and down the streets at the Belk's store, Walmart, Dollar General, and Fred's Dollar store.

Nothing could entice me to stand out there, and fight that crowd, just to save a couple of bucks.

However, I got friends that absolutely live to do just that, each year.

We have a gal in our group of friends who does that every year with her sister. The minute T-giving dinner is over with, they head out to get in line wherever it is they plan to hit that particular year. They're nuts! 'Course, my (ex) wife and I used to do the same thing every year for the Rose Parade in Pasadena. But I don't put that in the same category really, it was more like an all-night tailgate party before a big game and we made some cool friends while doing it. I will say we loved it and looked forward to it every year. I'm sure some of these shoppers look at Black Friday the same way. I've seen them set up tents and grills etc. and treat the parking lot (or sidewalk) like a campground ... and I'm sure there's lots of partying and camaraderie going on, so it may be fun, IF you're into that sort of thing. FWIW, I'm not.

Now once the doors open and the REAL craziness starts ... that's what I don't get.

My wife's holiday work schedule has her working today 9-9 so she was off all day yesterday. We had a great
thanksgiving and for once didn't have to plan everything around Blck Fucking Friday.
