Their seeds have done been spread. Not shot but one doe off the farm this year and let a "butt load" (as my children say) of small bucks walk. They will be goodun's next year. But I have no doubt there are plenty more around. :D

100% USDA approved farm raised government goats! And I'll bet they ate about every blade of grass in their lives on Cappy's farm!

I imagine the corn marbled them a bit, but its more likely the blood sweat and tears Cappy has put into his QDMA efforts are what have paid off with those big bucks. Pretty cool to see it evolve over time!

This year I planted Lynx winter peas in my wildlife food plots and they are on em heavy. The Lynx pea suppose to be more palatable and sweeter than the Australian winter pea that I normally plant. It also fixes its own nitrogen and thus is a good soil builder. The way they are eating them I will be putting them in for years to come. I also put them in the big grain drill and drilled them in the pastures with oats and rye so I've got about 200 acres of mixed, oats, fescue, Lynx winter peas, clover, rye, and rape. The cows are enjoying the mix also. That and the 100 plus acres of very heavy oak acorns mast this year has really held the deer on the farm this year.
The food is holding the does. We are seeing does my the tons about every time we hunt, and the does are the draw for the bucks.
Lots of work but is paying off well. Now if just some of you dufes would come hunt with me. I think I'm pretty much done for this year. I going to spend the rest of the year trying to get a deer for my niece, she don't care if it's a buck or doe she just wants to shoot a "deer".

Waiting on an invite.

Since October 19 I've seen a 4 point, a spike, and a doe.

First time in my life, I'm seriously thinking of doing something else.......

Taking a few does out of the property will leave more food for deer to grow, but Im pretty sure you know that and making sure you have plenty of supplemental food. Or... Your killing your neighbors pet deer!!!!

Nandy, as you know the acorns on my place alone would carry 3 times the deer that come though it, not to mention all the food plots I put in, and thousands upon thousands of pounds my auto feeders throw out each year. One thing I've learned on the farm is when the acorns start calling you might as well cut the corn feeders off. Corn will stack up under the feeders for about a month. Then they will get back on the corn in late November through the winter.

If I didn't know better I'd think SOMEONE with admin powers edited my post. Looks suspiciously like the work of a pUMpHEAD.

That said there are very few of us that can hear the "calling"
