Reading yes, spelling I highly doubt. I used to spell very well and now with everything having a auto-correct spell check I've become a terrible speller. I suspect I'm not alone. I used to think magazine writers had impeccable spelling. Then I got to be friends with a number of professional writers and discovered they have some of the worst spelling skills of anyone I've ever met. Technology can definitely make a person seem more intelligent than they really are.

For what it's worth, my brother has a college degree and can barely spell his own name. But .... he has been a very successful business owner for 20-25 years.

I'm with Big Sky. I USED to be a pretty fair speller. As a kid, I made it to the State spelling bee two years in a row. Over the years, I've somehow become terrible at spelling. I many times have to ask Google or Lynn how to spell many words.
