Thump - I think I told you about digging the sign out of the river bank. BIL has done me lots of favors, so I gave it to him for his new shop. I didn't even take a picture so I got one while I was there recently.

It's never even been washed up so it will clean up considerably . Painted on both sides.

Not cherry - but not bad for being buried for who knows how long.

That's pretty impressive for being buried!

I memmer those vette pace cars. I wanted one so bad I could taste it. I was still a kid, though. not many 16 year olds driving those back in the day :)

Yeah - They are hard-core Chevy folks. That's an '86 Pace car behind it and a split-window in back. He's got a '66 and a '67 - couple '69 Chevelles I think one has the 454 - the other the 396.. Couple others thrown in.. and about a half-dozen of those 1086 Internationals. He also restored my granddad's 40s vintage AC WC. Everyone has to have a hobby. ;)

Sorry, I've been at the hospital today getting my annual butt-probe. I had a bad reaction to the anesthesia and got sick as a dog (only happened once before and NOT fun!). I just now started feeling better and decided to check in here. There are some NICE toys in that garage! Tell your BIL I'm up for adoption! (I'll take the split-window!) ;)

HH, that's a REALLY nice sign! They actually make reproductions of those and beat them up to look old, but under the circumstances you found that one and the fact it appears to be porcelain, it looks like a real McCoy! It would EASILY fetch $300-$500 on eBay. This one isn't quite as beat up, but it just sold on an auction 2-weeks ago (12/20) for $937.00! (some pristine ones have actually approached the $2000 mark!)
