Posting this for a friend....she found this ring in the Walmart parking lot in Jackson, MS, and trying to return it to the rightful owner....she did not trust the store's lost-and-found, and prolly rightfully so.

I told her to contact the VA in Jackson, tomorrow.

Hope you find the guy. Looks like he may have been in country for Tet and very well could have received the Purple Heart from that conflict. How's that for a load of speculation? ;)

Eddie, here's an orgshe moght contact and see if they can help. if he wore a ring that long, there's a good chance he was also a member of this org. Just maybe. As you say, a long shot but might work.

A clue would be that it says"Purple Heart" right on the front of the ring. :D

According to this, it's already been claimed Muddy.

I know that numbnutz ... I meant he could very well have have received it during Tet.

If he entered the service at the end of '67 for example, he would have been in Basic Training/Boot Camp or possibly AIT during Tet. If he entered earlier in '67, he very well could have been in country for Tet. (January 1968)

Actually, I said it was lost in Jackson, MS instead of Flowood, MS because I figured most of you dufes were familiar with Jackson....Flowood is right next door.

For whatever reason my friend put the word out about the lost ring, I'm just happy the guy got it back...makes you feel good that there's still a few honest folks out there.

Well, I haven't thought about that, but I could use some extra bling after deer season....I might need some practice, however. ;)

"Good morning, ma'am, welcome to Walmart....are those two children your twins."

"Hell, no they aren't twins, you old bastard....they don't look anything alike....why would you think they are twins.???"

"Well, to be honest ma'am, I just can't imagine you EVER getting laid twice."

Yeppers, for all practical purposes, Flowood is basically just a suburb of Jackson.

Glad he got the ring back. I'm sure it's sentimental.
