I received a notice in the mail today informing me I have an appointment at the VA for a PACT Lab. Evidently I'll be there for a while, they said to "bring a light snack"!

Huh? I have no clue what a PACT lab and is or why I need one? I Googled PACT lab and came up with "Program for Anxiety, Cognition, and Treatment Lab".

Anybody have a frigging clue WTF that means? :huh

What'cha think they're looking for? Early signs of old-timers or sumpin'? Checking to see if I'm still a pumphead? I have no clue.

The VA is in cahoots with the Obama administration in a plot to deny veterans their 2nd Amendment rights. I saw it on the internet so it must be true.

Maybe they'll give you the "peanut butter test"....no sheeit, I read this just yesterday....they're using peanut butter to detect early signs of Alzheimer's.

Close your eyes, and have someone hold a dollop of peanut butter near your nose....the further away you can detect the aroma, the better your chances of not having Alzheimer's.

Just so ya'll don't think this is bullsheeit:

I do a similar test with my finger to determine if I need a shower.

Actually, I'd flunk that test 'cause my smeller don't work all that well. I think it's from all the chemicals I used to use with my business. I remember times when someone would get near my work area and they'd quickly cover their face and start gasping, then leave the area as quickly as possible. I wouldn't smell a thing. I guess it's kinda like bad breath .... everybody smells it but you! ;)

I remember when both my parents were diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer's, they first lost their sense of taste, then later, their sense of smell.

Lynn's mom had a root canal about 3-4 years ago and hasn't been able to taste anything since. She hardly enjoys eating anymore and just eats because she has to. I mentioned malpractice, but she just shook it off and said, "She's not that way!" Man, I'd be miserable (and a LOT skinnier) if I couldn't taste anything. Eating is one of my main joys in life.

Bassdog couldn't smell. Which is lucky for him. Between him and Tee Dub, Heaven is a pretty stinky place I gotta tell ya.

I had a really bad flu a number of years ago that killed my sense of smell and taste. Doc said that the 'flu' virus could actually kill the nerves and your senses. Lasted for about a year and was not fun. I could not tell the difference between vinegar and water. Finally came back slowly and now my sniffer is way better than it ever was. Funny thing but the first thing I could smell was shit. Go figure.
