Given you are the Wiz of eBay, just wondering if you could tell me how to look up items that have sold in the past in order to find out how much they sold for?

I've got some old wildlife prints to get rid of and want to see if they are worth a fortune before I give them away.

No prob. Bwana. Just go to eBay, enter a search for what you're looking for. It'll bring up items listed for sale/auction. Look to the left margin and scan down to "sold listings" ... click on it.

I have no frigging clue how or even IF it can be done because I'm a dufe.

I'm sure Thumper can tell you all that you need to know because he's a genius at this sort of thing. ;)

I tried that but it didn't work but maybe that is because it sold back in June of 2013.

Another 'bay question for you, what is their cut when you sell an item?

Yeah, the old listings only go back a month or two before they "fall off". Any sold listings listed will be relatively recent. There's a site on the net that shows the old listings and their selling price, but it's a pay site. (Esty I think?) Not worth it for the casual player IMHO.

A "new guy" (seller) pays 10% to Ebay plus 2.9% + $0.30 for PayPal fees. With a proven track record and X-amount of sales, plus keeping seller status requirements at a certan point, the fees are 8% (plus PayPal). Of course there are add-ons if you want to get fancy with your listing (usually no need for that). You can post 12 pics free, anything over 12 has a surcharge (12 is plenty).
