Saw the news, this morning, about the big wildfires in Okieland....are they near your area???....looks like some bad stuff.

Not too close. The counties to the north and west of us burn every spring or are burnt every spring going back for a few thousand years. We still manage to burn up a few houses and trailer houses and barns every year in the process though.

We can smell 'em this morning because a little front turned the gale force winds we're having around to he NW.

This spring has been a windy motor scooter here in my little spot on the earth.

So, are the fires an accident or purposely set to clear off the weeds???

Yep, they burn pastures every spring here to encourage the bluestem to grow. And to kill ticks and other vermin.

What I meant was, what isn't burned on purpose is usually burned by accident by some fool who throws a cigarette out or starts them just to be turds.
