My contract is coming up in September and I want to shitcan everything but basic cable and just use streaming services to get any programs on premium channels I might want to watch. i know I'll miss some. I do need to find a solution to Cardinal baseball because I don't think FSOklahma or Missouri is in the basic lineup. I need to explore the options on my smart tv I guess.

So what's your experience with streaming programs like I want to?

One more pre-req: Gotta have Starz/Encore Westerns.

I'm definitely not your guy as I'm just starting to figure this stuff out myself. I do know that MLBTV will let you stream every single game in any device or TV for about $100 per season. I think the only restrictions are if you're in the local market.

The last time I paid for a premium AtBat subscription was 2013 and almost all the games were blacked out for me. Which makes no sense. But so it goes. We can't even get them on the radio here so I have to stream KMOX/St Louis to even listen to them.

It seems like there ought to be a way to fool MLBTV into thinking you're sitting somewhere else so you could see the Cardinals.

I'm definitely not your man. We subscribed to basic cable when we bought the house in 1989. We've never wavered and STILL have basic cable (Brighthouse). As for sports, as long as I get the Nastycar races, that's all I need.

Search up how to bypass MLBTV blackouts. It seems like there are some options.

Speaking of Amazon :) do your self a favor and research the Amazon fire stick. We have two of them and love them.

That looks pretty cool. Most of what I watch is sports though. It seems like I'd still need a cable provider or a league specific app if i wanted to watch cable sports. Is that right?

I have the Amazon app on my TV so I'm wondering if I already have everything the stick gets you. So I also have to figure out how to run the audio out from my TV to my AVR.

Can't do satelite here, or I should say 'won't do'. The last thing a person needs in Oklahoma is rain fade when a wall cloud is nearby. I have to know when to go out on the back porch to see it ya know!

I use fire stick for travel. The library isn't the exact same but yes pretty much the same thing. If you travel a lot for work or on vacation it's nice to have

Oh and on the fire stick you also get other streaming services like NFLX and hulu

Do you still have to subscribe to NFLX and HULU or do you get it with your Amazon Prime membership.
