That sheeit can happen in an instant, too....especially, out in rural areas....years ago, a red-tailed hawk picked up our little Chihuahua outta our back yard....wife saw the whole thing, and nearly had a heart attack.

Ha! Our cats are pretty raptor savvy I guess. We have a couple of owls in the neighborhood that "talk" to each other all night. A block down the street is an old snag with an eagle's nest in the top of it and I see hawks around here all the time ... one that visits the oak tree in front of my house on a regular basis. I guess they're pretty well fed. Our subdivision is on a large lake and there's a VERY large field (old pasture land) bordering the northeast side with woods across the street from that. We've been here 31 years and never lost a cat (yet), so I guess they're not worth the effort. ;)
