Got the wifey and I an early Christmas present....a Canon EOS Rebel T3i DSLR camera with a "regular" and a "telephoto" lens.

Cant' wait to learn all the buttons and menus on the beast. I've been reading the manual and playing with the different settings trying to get used to it. The menus are similar to, but different from, the Canon Power Shot SX20is that we've had for a few years now.

Congrats!

I'm sorry you squandered this opportunity to step in to the loving light of Nikon!

Seriously though, you'll love it. If my advice counts as anything. Read thru the manual quickly one time, more of a skim. Then teach yourself how to shoot in full manual mode.

I've seen your images with a point and shoot, you'll be a beast if you do that.

18-55 & 55-200 lenses?

Well Len, to tell the truth, the deal (from B&H by the way) was just too sweet to pass up.
Camera body
18-55
55-200
AND
75-300 (for just $7.00 more)

I thought it was a heck of a Black Friday deal.

I haven't tried either of the tele's yet. Still experimenting with the "short" lens.
