Who likes old-timey skillet-fried apple pies???....

I got an old apple tree on the farm that hasn't produced much thru the years, but it put on a few small green apples, this year.....they are tangy and sweet, so I managed to gather about a dozen.

It was too dang hot outside to do much this afternoon, so my wife dug out her Mom's recipe for me, while she ran some errands.

They turned out pretty darned good, with some big scoops of ice cream.

We been picking blackberry a here and Mrs Captain has been making blackberry cobblers. They are SOME kinda good with some ice cream!

We had some blueberry pie with homemade vanilla ice cream yesterday. Good stuff! Love this time of year.

Mudward, those are purty good heated in a microwave with a big dollop of butter melted across them too
