Finally got a call from the urologist who read my ct scan and he told me to come directly to the hospital do not pass fucking go.
So after I hurried up, now I'm waiting in Registration. Been here a couple hours. Sounds like I have a mass on my kidney and they're gonna take it.,but the. Again I' e yet to talk to a doctor since they delivered this news on the phone. Hope it ain't growing anywhere's else!

I told my wife, at least it wasn't one of my nuts.

I had a bowl of soup before I came up here. Good thing too. I hate to be one of 'those' people but this process sucks. Here they scare me to death with that phone call, I call my wife at work and she rushes home, we come straight down like we were told and now We're sitting in my room for almost three hours and zip zero nada zilch. I talked to my first human just a minute ago. My doc hadn't sent ANY of my info like my meds and so on. these people need some fucking leadership.

And we still haven't talked to a doctor. And my wife just left to go home to get my daily meds because in this modern health care system they haven't received them from my PCP. And this hospital is affiliated with the clinic my doc is part of.

And my sweet wife just went Italian on them (her Mom's maiden name was Capone). Dropped a few F bombs and chewed out the entire nursing staff. They're about to find out how the cow ate the cabbage if they don't straighten up.

Honestly, that phone conversation scared me to death. Six hours later, we spoken to nobody but a nurse that asked a bunch of questions related to admission. And that's why we're both ready to bust out of here.

I'm going to hear what they have to say tomorrow after my ct scan later tonight. There are two urologists, one a specialist and one a surgeon who will have read them. So I kind of have two opinions. Believe me, adter the incompetence I saw today. thought about checking myself out and going somewhere else.
they've kind of redeemed themselves tonight.
the night nurses and doc i talked to are on top of their game. The head of nursing here though is going to get an email from me when all is said and done. Coming from a service career, I can tell you they NEED to hear it.

Talked to the urologist just now. The mass is bigger than my kidney.
so its gotta come out probably. He's running additional ct scans this morning, I'm sure to try to see if there's any spread to other organs. I should know somethng by noon he said. And he told me they. won't schedule my kidney sirgery for a couple of weeks which is the exact opposite of what I was told to expect yesterday.

Vas ist los as the krauts say. I think I need to just stop having expectations at this point and take it more one step at a time.

Well, damn. I know from experience with my Mrs. That it's a lot easier and efficient to admit you to the hospital when they want to do a bunch of tests quick vs. running you all over town to various outpatient facilities. So, maybe that's it.

I just talked with the surgeon/urologist and he has me scheduled for surgery Monday at noon. he's pretty certain that it is kidney cancer but also thinks tht removing the kidney will be the end of it. of course they have to do pathology on the thing once its out to inow for sure. so I'm stuck in the horsepistol until then while they do another test or two.

so we have a plan and I feel 100% better for it!

That sounds encouraging. Best advice I ever heard in these situations is to stay off the internet until you know more. The folks in the "kidney cancer" forum will tend to be, unfortunately, folks for whom things haven't gone well and it'll just alarm you unnecessarily.

I hate when they use that friggin tape. It's 2016 for goodness sakes. There are better ways. Don't let them bastages keep you locked up all weekend. Unfortunately we spent a lot of time in the hospital when my FIL was there. I would always go for walks to the maternity ward and check out the new babies. The excitement always made me feel better. And on average the nurses are better looking :-) Hurry up with this nonsense so we can go fishing. Keep us posted.

Sorry to hear this crappy news and as for how some of the folks in medicine treat folks these days, some of those folks need a swift kick in the ass!
