My son is getting better with each painting. I wanted to teach him a couple of different new techniques with this lesson; hence, the crazy background and also being able to see the drawing beneath some of the paint. Both were done intentionally. This time he wanted to pick the subject so he picked his hero in super hero art Mr. Stan Lee of Marvel Comics. The guy looks like a bookie or Vegas hustler to me, but to each their own I guess. Anyway I thought you guys might enjoy watching his progress. I guarantee in a few short years he will be completely kicking my butt and I'm more than okay with that.

So here's the demonstration I completed.

Here is Hunter's version as he followed along and still maintained his own style. I'm glad art doesn't turn out identical between teacher and student or life would get real boring, real fast!

Just an FYI, these are not fine art, hang in a gallery, type pieces. These are lesson/demonstration pieces completed start to finish (including the drawing part) in two hours or less.

I am stunned that you create that kind of detail in such a short time!

The impressions of each are amazing to me. Two brains seeing the same thing and interpreting it in different ways. Neat.
