Got to stand with my son for him to take the oath of office and pin his first badge on him. Sorta proud he followed in my footsteps, but in today's times with Law-Enforcement is sorta troublesome also.... 7711 7712

Congrats to him. I know what you mean. I'll do all I can to try to dissuade my son from going into LE but I'll be damn proud if he does.

Remember when you were a rookie and the older guys would be telling stories and you'd think to yourself, "They would fire my ass in a heartbeat if I did something like that" then getting that same look from the rookies when you're one of the older guys telling the story about stuff you did?

If you weren't a great example to hammer he'd have fine another direction. Something to feel proud about! I'd be concerned too, honestly. I hope he has a long and successful career!

Congrats to you and Cheryl and the Hammerhead! That's one of those deals that makes a big lump in my throat.

Proud of you and him both!

As has been said, you should be quite proud of the boy and I wish him the best in his career.

This touches my heart big time!! We here at GH watched him grow up and now we see him as a fine young man taking a commitment to serve his fellow man. Awesome feeling.

I hear what you are saying Captain. However, to those of us that abide by the law and don't go out of our way to be a problem, we are grateful there are still good men (like your son) willing to go into law enforcement.

Congrat's to Hammerhead, I know he had to work hard to get there.
The thin blue line is a special group of people, most honor their position and deserve the respect.
Kay and I have the same worries that you and Cheryl do, it goes with being parents.
Wish David all the best and remind him his No 1 job is to come home at night.

Congratulation's on his accomplishment.
In case you don't know, if you see a vehicle with a strip of blue painters tap going across the back window of a vehicle, thats a sign you support Law Enforcement. I have one on the back of my truck!!

Thank you everyone. He's a pretty good kid! Still worry about him, but I guess that goes with the territory.
