Can anyone of you help me put a value to my SKS? I am going to sell it then use the money to get a AR15. Im keeping the ammo as I plan on getting an AK later on..
This is a Norinco gun that I bought before I moved here in 98, all serials matching.
It is on a synthetic stock that I bought as many years ago but I have the wood stock that came with it.
I have installed a muzzle brake on it.
I have 2 optic mount for it, the one that replaces the buffer spring cap (I have the original cap too) and one that has to be tapped to the receiver. I never installed the later one.
It has the original strap and bandoleer, plus 20 speed loader clips.
It has a bipod, dont remember the brand but I am sure it is the one that walmart sells.

PHotobucket seems to be down, let me try to attach a pic...

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure what they are worth now but I rember when the local gun shops had them in 50 gallon drums and you could buy them for $89.00.

I think I've seen similar set ups advertised locally for about $400. Not sure what they actually went for.

Nandy it is according if you want to make a quick sale or wait for the right buyer that will meet your price. I think you should get 500 for the rifle with all the accessories you have with it. That would be my guess.

BTW, I think I paid $90 for mine right after Columbine. Like you, I've got a couple of different stocks, etc. I don't think I'll sell it as there's nothing like taking some suburban teenagers out to the woods and watching the look on their face after hey emptya 30 round clip into the night from that thing.

I bought one in 2010 for $275....it was naked and well used, but worked perfectly....I knew I prolly paid too much, but I knew the owner took care of his stuff.

SKS sell for $400 to $500 and more nowadays.... Nandy I wasn't implying they were still worth so little it just amazes my how much they shot up in the 2000's. It seems like they were pretty cheep all during the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's then the value just exploded.

Cabelas offered the most money followed by Hyatt guns. $240 to $300. So I am listing this gun online sometime this week or next. I have a fishing trip to TN thur-sun and that has priority....

Thanks everyone!
