I'm fine with that. I did my research :) I go ask my good friend who is a mechanic. I'll take his opinion over anyone else cause he's where the rubber hits the road, literally. That and I got a lifetime warranty eased my mind a great deal. I would have preferred a 'Yota Tundra but the used prices are about 90% of new, ridiculous.

In other news, did anyone see where Mercedes is coming out with a pickemup truck this year?

I'm highly disappointed. I expected to be called a fuckstick for posting that. I'll NEVER get my SD'er badge at this rate. You're getting soft in your old age! ;)

That's cool. P-hole, when I was working with my dad building Cadillac pick-ups and station wagons, Mercedes approached us and asked if we'd consider producing Mercedes station wagons for them. It was common for low production custom options to actually be built/installed by outside vendors back in the day. That was in 1976, but there was no way we could afford the tooling to set up for that sort of production and turned them down. They came out with their own Station Wagon in '78. I guess the pick-up will complete the line-up. Maybe we were way ahead of the crowd as far as luxury pick-ups are concerned. ;)

Here's a scan of one of our brochures from 1975.

No way. Stock Cadillac color/paint. We only built conversions ordered by dealers. The dealer would ship us a car from their inventory, or they'd purchase it from the factory and GM would drop-ship the car directly to us for conversion.

Since I can't afford the new Mercedes Benz truck, maybe I'll get one of these new Camo trucks....blends right in, doesn't it??? ;)

AMC was at the top of their game with fugly little cars in those days. I always thought the Pacer looked like a Gremlin that swallowed a box of Fizzies (remember those?), then rolled it's windows up! :D

Exactly why I bought it new, the same truck I bought new for $45 k, the 2013 was selling for $38k to $40k everywhere and the 2014-15 were almost same price as new... Which means I will probably get a good trade in 3 or 4 years down the road, maybe by then Toyota will have caught up with the others in MPG or even finally have a diesel... However, this time will be a Crewmax with a 8.5 bed... Like driving a train but I will be able to haul my cruiser in it... right now with my 6.5 bed the back tire will be in the tailgate edge, I dont even think it will make it off the ramp end fold....
