When we remodeled our master bathroom my wife just had to have these Quoizel halogen light fixtures that have these stupid bulbs that you can't touch with your bare fingers. They really do put out amazing light. The problem is, when one goes out it takes the two bulbs that are immediately downstream from it along with it. I guess it power surges the other two and burns them out. And the little frackers are expensive. We have three double fixtures so there six bulbs in there total. This is the second time three have burned out.
The guy at the lighting store told me 'Oh these will never burn out, they're halogen'.

Bull crap.
What a horrible design.

Well, she liked them for the way the fixtures looked and didn't give a poop about the maintenance requirements.

Yup, that would get on my nerves pretty quick. I really dislike stuff like that when it turns what should be a simple job into something more than it should be.

I'm right there with you Postie! I replaced a fixture on our main floor bathroom with of those because my Mrs. wanted it an I didn't know better. Never freakin' again! My only consolation is that my local old school hardware store gives away free popcorn on Saturday and Sunday and I can pick up a bag when I'm paying the outrageous sums those things cost. Life time my left a$$ cheek. I'd be happy if I want 3-4 months without replacing one of those farqers.

Evidently, my wife did the same thing, Phole....long story-short, the bulbs suck....I told her, if she kicks the bucket afore me, there's a few things that's gonna be deep-sixed around this joint....those day'um light fixtures are the first to go, followed by those 5 big-azz pine trees in the yard, followed by that sheeity Pathfinder....and, the dogs get to come in the house. ;)
