Share the one you've heard here.

It always amazed me how jokes and stories made it all over the world back before the internet and people passed stuff along directly. In fact, there might have been just as many then as there are now.

The one I remember best was the $1000 brand new Corvette. You see, the owner was found dead and rotting in it and no matter what they tried, they couldn't get the smell out. So a guy ended up buying it for a thousand bucks. Brand new!

I don't remember any that crossed state lines. We had two local ones here. Most interesting of which was the Clifton Bunny Man. Some still say it was a real thing,.

Holy shit, he made wikipedia!

It was good enough fuel to scare the everlovin shit out of ourselves when partying out in the woods!

Hey Lenster, I think the Bunny Man might be the present day clowns. ;)

I remember seeing this one on mimeographed. For you chilluns, that was what copiers were before they were copiers.

I usually heard them while sitting around campfires as a Scout. I remember one about the "bell witch", but I'll be darned if I can remember it now.
