From the content of this report, I think Archer must have moved to North Dakota. ;)
Nice looking deer. Our gun season opens up this coming Saturday. I'll get out in the morning but have to quit early that day because my wife's family is having an open house that afternoon for her grandma's 100th birthday which is actually tomorrow. She has one of those cool birthdates, 11/12/13.
-
I can't get over how big bodied those suckers are.
-
Can't argue with the results, but that's an awful quick season.

Ya know what they say....
The family that slays together.....

I just got done working the crash where this boy got hit. Sorry for the bad pictures, but best I could do on the side of the road.
-
Those car/deer accidents sure claim some nice bucks. Did the driver get to claim his kill?
-
Yeah, I gave them a permit for it and they were going to take it, but they hit it square with their Tahoe, and it went into the path of another car coming the opposite way which hit it too. Probably not much edible left on hit, but they got the rack at least.
-
How did the Tahoe fare? I shudder to think about one of those coming through my windshield, which is one reason I like decent ground clearance in my truck.

Congrats Bwana! A couple for nice ones there.

Completely took out grill, headlights, and shoved the radiator back several inches and rolled the front edge of the hood under a bit. Gonna be costly, but no injuries. The driver questioned why the airbags didn't go off, but they don't very often in car/deer crashes because the body of the deer usually hits above the airbag sensors and hits the grill instead of the bumper. I usually tell them they are lucky they didn't because of the extra cost and damage resulting in an airbag deployment.

How's this for a LIKE button????

A couple more pics.
Where he fell. My boys kicked him out of his bed in a cattail slough giving me about a second to decide whether or not to shoot.

Finally, my dad once again skinning my deer for me since I am so allergic to them.
