Poem:
Dear Friend
By
Stephanie Solis
Today is the day you will be laid to rest,
But you know what they say,
God only takes the best.
Everything happens for a reason,
Even if we may not agree.
Just promise to look after us,
And if you can,
Save a spot up there for me.
The thought of never seeing you again brings tears to my eyes,
And even more so,
Because all of this was such a surprise.
But we should never question what God has planned,
Sometimes it's not meant for us to understand.
So as we sit here and mourn the loss of a beloved friend,
We have to keep telling ourselves that we will meet again.

A rare picture of Larke not only cooking, but cooking his famous pig dip.

Three years ago, today. About 9:00 AM I got a text from Cheryl on Larke’s phone. All it said was “This is Cheryl, Larke has died.” He was bitching about his COPD bothering him the night before and said he already had an appt with his doc.
I don’t want to dwell on that, only to say that things happen in the blink of an eye sometimes and we ought to not forget to let people know how we feel about them. Them that are important anyways.
I sure miss that fellow. We for sure had more fish to catch.
