Trip Report
Egghead and I spent the day scouting some new (to me) ground yesterday. We put 20+ mikes in the ATV's and only covered maybe 50-60% of the property. It was a beautiful warm day to be out though. The first pic is Old Rag in the distance which is one of the most famous hikes in the Shenandoah National Park. The tall goofy looking dude in the second pic is Egghead.

Those look like cowpies all over the ground. Are youse dufes planning on hunting beef? ;)

This property is owned by a fairly large cattle operation for these parts. We chatted with one of the farm hands at lunch time and they said they run about 800 cattle + calves in the fall and spring. For a critter that tastes so good. Cows sure do make a mess. It was also way too dry for this time of year. It's only February and we need rain bad.

Did you find any sheds or did the cows eat them already?

One shed was found. Here is a pic of CD in action:

Too bad you didn't get that pic a split second earlier when I had the whole front end off the ground.

No doubt. A second slower and that picture would have seen my favorite Nats cap flying through the air...
