So is this the opener in NC then? You still looking for aliens?

Dang! I already posted my smart-assed comment on your FB page. ;)
It doesn't seem fair, I spent last weekend doing projects around the house and moving LOTS of snow and here you are trying to take out every tom in the woods.
Well done sir.
I hate hens....
Had a Gobbler working as pretty and you please. He was coming in on a shoestring. Three hens walked in from my right and walked within 10 yards of me and straight to him and took him away!
If we had a hen season I'd reek revenge!

Can't you shoot hens in the fall down there?
Is there any difference in the taste? Those old toms aren't too good to eat. Putting the breast on a smoker is about my favorite way to eat 'em. That's about the only part that's any good imo.

Very jealous. Well done!
I have to admit ... every turkey I ever shot ... I'd take the breasts and throw the rest of the bird away. (never killed a hen)
Most of the "serious" turkey hunters I know would never dream of it. It's almost as bad as sniping one with a rifle during the fall.
Its hard as heck to hit one from a moving truck. Just ask anyone from Kansas. (Hombre?)

Though they can be tough too if you get an old birds, hens eat mighty fine up here in heathen country where they are fair game in the fall of the year.
Given the chance I will shoot a tom in the fall but when the ranchers give you permission to hunt so they can reduce the turkey numbers, you shoot any bird you can. Or at least we do. I have found that following the landowner's suggestions makes it all the more likely that you will be welcomed back to hunt again and I REALLY like hunting.
We have a hen season in certain counties in the fall.
Good grief.
I just realized..........when I hunt turkeys at Kroger, I have NO IDEA what gender they are. How can I tell? I don't want to break the law!
