Tis the season...
These cooler afternoons have the copperheads and rattlesnakes crawling up on the asphalt roads at night for the heat. Been working at the farm all day and left to go in to town for supper and this was waiting at the gate for me. There is not really anything for reference but I can tell you he was full grown and about 4 feet long. You can see in one picture his mouth open as he was striking at my truck tires. I finally put the front tire on him and sent him one his way to the happy striking grounds.... Attachment 7779 Attachment 7780

That's not a copperhead. It's a flathead.

Nice job of not messin' up the skin. Did ya' keep him for a hatband? ;)

He's in the back of the truck. If I feel like dealing with him tomorrow I will skin him out. If not he can go in the ditch. :D
